Event Spotlight: Art Ownership in the Digital Era
The question of art ownership continues to stir amidst the rapidly advancing digital world. Next up in London's event calendar is Own It, a symposium poised to dissect the complexities of copyright ownership in the gaming industry. But who stands to gain in this blossoming digital landscape?
Artistic Talent and Open Source: A New Frontier
Independent game developers are increasingly embracing open-source technologies, challenging the status quo of the gaming industry. However, with heavyweights decrying losses to file-sharing, it's clear that the battleground over intellectual property rights is intensifying.
The Battle for Adaptation
Recent legal victories for established game makers have bolstered their defense against piracy. Still, with technical advances in digital rights management, it remains to be seen whether the old guard will evolve or continue their current trajectory.
Enter Own-it and Open Rights Group
Own-it, in partnership with Open Rights Group, brings forth a compelling dialogue featuring both indie and corporate stalwarts of the gaming industry. They will dissect the potential of alternative business models rooted in open source methods. The event's chair, Becky Hogge, brings a wealth of experience on the global politics of open-source technology.
Renowned Panelists Take the Stage
The stage is set for a dynamic panel of influencers, including Vincent Scheurer, Chris Deering, and Steven Goodwin, all armed with insights from distinct corners of the gaming sphere. Dr. Andrew A. Adams adds a layer of academic prowess, rounding out a potent mix of perspectives.

Mark your calendars for a thought-provoking evening of presentation, panel discussion, and networking. Details of the venue and timing are tailored to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees.
